Hi! My name is Jefferyanna, I’m a doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and mother. Before any of these things, I worked in the hospitality industry and my career in management was promising. However, with the birth of each baby also comes the birth of a mother. After having my son in 2016 I never felt the same about hospitality, my drive for the industry was gone and I decided very quickly I wanted (needed) to be a doula.  I started attending births professionally in 2017 and fell in love with the work, and never looked back.

Over the years  I’ve been very fortunate to work with and be mentored by renowned professionals in their field. I volunteered at the Southern Nevada Breastfeeding Coalition during my first few years as a doula. I later worked part-time at Chiropractic for Life where Dr. Koury taught me so much about the human nervous system and infant development.  As of 2023, I have accepted another part-time role at Smart Mouth where I have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Tara and her team and continue to refine my skills as a lactation counselor, and eventually get my board certification in lactation consulting (IBCLC). My community and colleagues have helped shaped me into the Doula I am today. In the future, I plan to mentor new and student doulas as a way to give back to the profession.

Philosophy.

Birth is an incredibly intimate and profound experience. Each pregnancy and birth is unique and comes with different needs and desires. Birth doesn't always follow a plan, but our experiences rest with us forever and shape our future beliefs about birth and parenting. I believe that more important than how your baby is born is how you were made to feel during your experience and that you felt supported and heard as you navigate your birthing journey.

Things I love.

Walking, hiking, being outside, and exploring. The outdoors is where I reconnect with myself outside of my busy personal and professional life. I never stop getting excited to see desert wildlife;  my favorite desert animals are quail, big horn sheep, and velvet ants. I often joke that in my next life, I will be a big horn sheep living on protected land. I believe in the sacred yes and wholly no. If the answer is anything less than a f*ck yes, then it is a wholly no. This has helped me find what is in alignment with me. Turns out local coffee is a sacred yes, and so is most food. Want to take walk or, share some coffee or snacks during our prenatal visits? I'd love to.
